Memory Box – Delete your account

You can delete your Memory Box account and the data linked to it at any time. This page explains how, what is deleted and what we have to keep for a while.

Delete your account in the app

1. Open Profile → Privacy and data → Delete account.
2. Check what is linked to your account and tap "Next".
3. On the "Confirm account deletion" screen, confirm it's you (password, Apple or Google) and tap "Delete my account for good".

For your security we may ask you to sign in again before the deletion is confirmed.

Can't sign in? Ask us by e-mail

Write to privacy@novaai.ventures from the e-mail address linked to your account, with the subject "Account deletion request". We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We complete the request without undue delay and at the latest within one month.

What is deleted

When the deletion is confirmed we delete from our active systems:

1. your account data and the links to your sign-in methods;
2. your User Content (in the app: "Memories"), including files and the results of their processing;
3. any other data linked to your account, except what is listed under What we keep, and for how long.

Copies in backups are overwritten in the normal backup cycle and are not used in the meantime. Before you delete your account you can download a copy of your data in the app.

What we keep, and for how long

Some data must be kept for a limited time after deletion, because the law requires it or to defend legal claims:

Your Circle

Deleting your account ends your membership of every Circle. Memories published in the Circle's Chronicle stay in the Circle when their author leaves or deletes the account. A Circle's Owner cannot delete the account until the role is passed to someone else. Private drafts and unfinished uploads are deleted. Profile history keeps only the author's name, as plain text.
